I had a wonderful experience working with Cheung Showman Architects– specifically Esther and Shell. I hired them to help me with several home improvement projects for my brownstone, which included designing custom millwork, space planning, and finding vendors to complete the work. Throughout the process, they listened to my ideas and needs, and delivered solutions that improved upon my ideas. I absolutely love the additions to my space that they designed. Everyone that comes to my home remarks how charming and warm our home now feels.

Esther at Cheung Showman Architects was a true godsend! We were doing a minor interior renovation but required an architect for DOB permits and every other firm we talked to had huge minimums $$$$. Cheung Showman had a flat rate service for exactly what we needed and made the whole process pain free. They're clearly very experienced - everything was approved the first time with no additional comments or further hassle from the NYC DOB. Esther was also very available and patient to explain to me every step of the process and what to expect. Her team was professional, responsive, and great to work with. I will absolutely use them again the next time I need architectural services!

Back in the fall my partner and I were looking for an architect that could help us put together drawings for a bathroom renovation where we turned one large bathroom into two smaller ones. We ended up talking to three different architect firms and Cheung Showman gave a very reasonable quote and was also the most responsive/open to discussions which led us to go with them. Throughout the process Esther was super responsive and her and her team helped guide us through the process with the DOB, getting inspections, filing everything, getting final sign offs, etc. During the planning stages, the team iterated with us quite a few times to make sure we got the perfect layout. We've heard so many horror stories about working on home renovations when it comes to the planning and paper work side of things, but Esther helped make the whole process super smooth! We would 100% recommend them if you are looking for an architect to help with your renovations!

We used Cheung Showman for our recent co-op renovation, and can't recommend them enough! Esther was super communicative, responded very quickly to us as things came up along the way, and was always clear and open with the details of our project. She gave us great suggestions on how to optimize our space and layout - knowing we are working with very fixed square footage, and on a very tight budget. Super pleased with our experience, at an incredibly fair price. And all around lovely people to deal with. We are happy customers!

The team, particularly Esther and Martha, were an absolute pleasure to work with. Construction in NYC can be stressful and cumbersome, especially in a co-op such as my apartment, but Cheung Showman was extremely reliable and made the whole process as smooth as possible. They were highly communicative and efficient, and they ensured all rules and requirements of both the building and the DOB were met without hassle. They're experts and strive for complete customer satisfaction - I can't recommend them enough! We felt good about our ALT 2 permit knowing Martha and Esther had it under control!
